Learning Through Social Interactions in Toddler Daycare
Your child will learn through play and social interactions in toddler daycare. Our caring and nurturing teachers guide our students through playgroup class to make sure they are having a fun-filled, learning experience. Each of our teachers provide every toddler with opportunities to learn about themselves, fellow classmates, and the world around them. With a staff to child ratio of 1 to 4 for this age group, our teachers are always available for our toddler daycare students. Our toddlers range in age 15 to 24 months old and enjoy their time playing and learning as they expand their vocabulary and methods of communicating with others. Our goal at Margaux Early Childhood School is to have our toddlers develop a positive sense of self, cultivate a love of learning, build self-care and self-regulation skills, and honor their spiritual identities.
Developing Communication Skills in Toddler Daycare
Our toddler daycare classroom features toys and materials of many colors, shapes, sizes, and textures to support them in their sensory-motor period. As language development begins in each child, our teachers work with them to build on this skill by playing games and using self talk to expose children to a growing vocabulary. Our teachers also use other tools to help develop communication skills. They introduce and play music and listen to language and sounds to continue the development. Our classrooms are places where students feel comfortable and each day they are excited to come to school and take part in their community. Each toddler becomes an important part of our toddler daycare class and takes part in dancing, painting, and playing. As teachers, we look forward to each question our toddlers ask or gestures that they make because we understand that every inquiry is a learning opportunity. Our community is built on kindness toward each other, joy, and support. Our toddler daycare classes are five days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., five days a week from 8:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., or a three-day class from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. For more information on toddler daycare, visit www.margauxschool.org or call 305-667-9470.
